In-between cooking, I often look for something local that is cheap and good.
I tried the $20 Steak Frites (with cafe de Paris butter and jus) Wednesday at the Royal Hotel Paddington. Let’s just say it was not worth writing about.
Then I tried the Chicken Schnitzel Parmigiana option at the Imperial Hotel on Wednesday (not Thursday as per their website) which for $25 includes a schooner of their Resch’s beer. This reminded me of Unas! Great for starving backpackers.

Thursday is Rump Steak night for $25 including a schooner of their beer. (Not Tuesday as per their website, and not $20 per their website, or even their menus). However, this is the best pub steak that I can remember. Easy to understand, because the owners of the pub, own the Snake Creek Cattle Company, and you are getting Farm to the Table.

And it was cooked perfectly rare (as I requested).

Then I tried their pork roast Sunday. $25 including a glass of house red. It was very good.

I will be back!
