The recipe book was designed for the smaller 1/3 cup filling per pie (the Kmart 4 pie maker which appears to be discontinued). I bought the Sunbeam pie maker which is for the traditional 1/2 cup filling. It has the benefit that you eat less pastry per pie, and you can use it to heat pre made pies (provided they are round). Its disadvantage is that you can only get one base round per pastry sheet, so lots of pastry wasted unless you knead and roll the leftovers.

First attempt, Bacon & Egg Pies. Very simple and very pleased with the results.

Shortcrust pastry for the bottom, one large organic egg, some chopped bacon, add black pepper and puff pastry for the top (brushed with egg).
